Discount
A bounded, reversible price reduction — reusable template or one-off.
Overview
A Discount reduces what a customer pays without touching the catalog or replacing the rate. You can build a reusable Discount Definition (a template shared across customers) or define a one-off inline on a single subscription. Each applied discount is an instance targeting the subscription's base price, one Variable Component, or the whole invoice, as a percentage or a fixed amount. Duration is explicit — first invoice only, a fixed number of renewals, or forever — with an optional calendar end date, and a component discount can be limited to some of the billed units — and when several discounts are active on one subscription, a per-subscription stacking mode decides how they combine. Discounts apply after the normal pricing chain (scopes, agreements, overrides) resolves, can be previewed against the next invoice before saving, and every change lands in an audited Discount History. If you need an unbounded, outright replacement of the rate instead, that's a price override — not a discount.
